James Franses, designer
James Franses is a fourth generation jeweller.
His career started from merely sketching a couple of ideas which he thought might work in a piece of jewellery and, in time, he became drawn to the idea of actually creating something himself by hand.
After leaving school, James entered the trade by working in one of the most prestigious jewellers in London then completed his apprenticeship at one of the top London studios.
Today, James’ first floor workshop is situated within the heart of the family business in Westover Road where he handcrafts pieces of jewellery from the original sketches and works with an absolute passion. His designs are not only unusual and imaginative –almost eccentric at times – but are also wearable and highly desirable.
Everything James creates is by hand, from the initial freehand drawing to sculpting the design. As a result, the creations are striking, fluid and sometimes breathtaking. They have a unique sense of movement and many are understated to emphasise the carefully selected fine diamonds.
Beverly Franses is involved in the day to day running of the business from design to display. She has a flare for knowing what works, it is because of her vision that the business is what it is today. She puts love and effort into everything she does and prides herself on ensuring that every customer feels special and appreciated.
