Franses is a fourth-generation family jeweller with a long-standing heritage in fine diamond jewellery. With four generations of the family still involved in the business today, there is a deep history behind everything we do.

Our History
1984
Travelling south of the UK for vintage/antique jewellery
Jeff and Beverley travelled across the South of the UK in search of vintage and antique jewellery, carefully sourcing pieces rich in character and history. This journey led us to establish a stall on Portobello Road, where we showcased a curated selection of unique finds, each chosen for its craftsmanship, individuality, and timeless appeal.
1985
J.Franses & Son Ltd established
In 1985, J. Franses & Son Ltd was established on Commercial Road in Bournemouth. This marked an important step in the business's growth, creating a permanent home for a carefully curated collection of antique jewellery and laying the foundations for its continued reputation of quality and craftsmanship.
1989
Moved to Westover Road
In 1989, we relocated to our current premises on Westover Road in Bournemouth. This move marked a significant chapter in our development, as we refined our focus on fine jewellery, developing our high-quality service to customers, and building the unique luxury experience in store we strive to provide.
2016
Franses becomes a Patek Philippe authorised retailer
In 2016, Franses was appointed an authorised retailer of Patek Philippe. This milestone marked a significant moment in the business's evolution, aligning us with one of the world's most prestigious watchmakers and reinforcing our commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and heritage.
2025
Expansion Into adjoining stores
In 2025, we undertook a significant expansion, incorporating two adjoining shops to create a larger, more refined retail space. This development allowed us to enhance the in-store experience, offering an expanded presentation of our collections while maintaining the same level of service and expertise.
